Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
“I’m excited to welcome you to our school, where we create a supportive environment for every child to thrive. Schools play a vital role in promoting the intellectual, physical, social, emotional, moral, spiritual and aesthetic development and wellbeing of students. The role of education is central in building a democratic, equitable and just society. We actively share this responsibility with students, parents/carers, families and the community. Together, we collectively help our children become literate, numerate and well-educated citizens, while giving them the capabilities and confidence to make a positive contribution to our society. At Wallsend South Public School, we deliver a timely and relevant curriculum, to meet students' needs, while forming close relationships with parents and caregivers and local communities. I encourage you to take an active role in your child's education and in the life of the school by participating in one of the parent groups that meet regularly throughout the year or by taking part in school activities as they arise. I look forward to a quality and effective partnership with you and your child.
Tony Selwood, Principal of Wallsend South Public School
